1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service form a legally binding agreement between you and Solvena Labs, Inhaber: Justus Hesse, Nienburger Str. 31, 27283 Verden, Germany governing your use of the Veluma mobile application. By creating an account or otherwise using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Description of the Service

Veluma is a Christian mobile application that helps users engage with Scripture through Bible reading, Scripture memorization, and related spiritual growth features. The App offers a free Basic plan and a paid Premium plan with additional features, as described in Section 6.

Users on the free Basic plan will see advertisements served through Google AdMob; the Unlimited plan removes advertisements.

3. Eligibility and Minors

Veluma does not currently enforce a strict minimum age. If you are under the age of 16 (or the age of digital consent in your country of residence), you may only create an account and use the App with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement or have obtained such consent.

4. Account Registration

To use the App, you must create an account using a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

5. Acceptable Use

When using Veluma, you agree not to:

• Post or share content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes the rights of others
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Use the App to spam, harass, or abuse other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, other accounts, or our systems
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access or interact with the App
• Use the App for any purpose that contradicts its Christian, faith-centered mission in a way intended to disrupt or harm the community

6. Subscriptions and Billing

6.1 Plans

Veluma offers the following plans:

• Basic — free of charge, with core Bible reading and memorization features
• Unlimited — a paid subscription, billed either monthly or annually at your chosen interval, offering additional features

6.2 Billing and Payment Provider

Premium subscriptions are sold and billed exclusively through Apple's App Store or Google Play, depending on the platform you use, and are managed on our behalf using RevenueCat. Your payment method will be charged through your Apple ID or Google Play account. We do not process or store your payment card information.

6.3 Auto-Renewal

Premium subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the then-current price.

6.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your Premium subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings or Google Play account settings, as applicable. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period; you will continue to have access to Premium features until then. We do not process cancellations directly, as all subscriptions are managed through the applicable app store.

6.5 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time. Any price change will be communicated to you in advance, in accordance with the applicable app store's requirements, and will only take effect for subsequent billing periods. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel your subscription before it takes effect.

6.6 Refunds

All purchases are subject to the refund policies of Apple or Google, respectively. Solvena Labs does not directly process refunds; refund requests must be submitted through the applicable app store. This does not affect any statutory right of withdrawal you may have under applicable consumer protection law, to the extent such right applies to digital content and is not excluded by your prior consent to immediate performance.

6.7 Free Trials

If a free trial is offered for the Unlimited plan, it will automatically convert into a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled beforehand, in accordance with Section 6.4.

7. User Content

Any content you submit to the App (such as your profile bio, display name, or key verse selection) remains yours. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the App, including displaying it to other users in accordance with your visibility settings.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, logos, and original content (excluding Bible text sourced from third-party providers and user-submitted content), is the property of Solvena Labs and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our prior written consent.

9. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including Supabase (backend infrastructure), bible.helloao.org (Bible text), Apple and Google (app stores and payment processing), and RevenueCat (subscription management). Your use of these integrated services may also be subject to their respective terms, which we encourage you to review.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time through the App's settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if required to do so by law. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately, though certain provisions of these Terms (such as intellectual property and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". While we strive to keep Veluma accurate, reliable, and available, we do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of Bible text inaccuracies sourced from third-party providers, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Solvena Labs shall only be liable for damages caused intentionally or through gross negligence. This limitation does not apply to liability for injury to life, body, or health, or to liability under mandatory statutory provisions, such as the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz).

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you within the App or by other appropriate means before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence. Where legally permissible, the courts of the location of Solvena Labs' registered address shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes.
